What is the Newcastillian Business Directory?
The Newcastillian Business Directory helps people across Newcastle and Northern KwaZulu-Natal discover local businesses, services and organisations. Customers can search by category or area and contact listed businesses directly.
Which listing package should I choose?
A Basic Listing provides a simple directory presence at no cost. Verified Listings are suited to businesses wanting greater credibility and improved contact visibility. Featured Listings offer stronger styling and increased visibility, while Premium Partners receive the most prominent directory placement available.
How much does a Verified Listing cost?
A Verified Listing costs R3 000 for six months or R5 000 for 12 months. The 12-month option saves R1 000 compared with purchasing two consecutive six-month listings.
What does “Verified” mean?
Verified status means that Newcastillian News has reviewed the business information and supporting details submitted with the application. It helps customers identify businesses that have provided information supporting their identity and operation.
Verification does not represent an endorsement, guarantee or recommendation of the business, its products or its services.
What information is required for verification?
We may request supporting information such as your business registration details, proof of address, contact information, website or social media pages, and other documentation relevant to confirming the business’s identity.
Where will my listing appear?
Your listing will appear in the Newcastillian Business Directory and within its most relevant category. Its position, size, styling and available contact options will depend on the package selected.
How long does approval take?
Please allow up to three working days for your information to be reviewed. Listings will only be published once the required details, supporting material and payment—where applicable—have been received.
Can I upgrade my listing later?
Yes. You can upgrade your listing whenever your business requires greater visibility. The available upgrade options will depend on your current package and the remaining duration of your listing.
Can I change my business information after publication?
Yes. You can request changes when important details such as your telephone number, address, website or operating hours change. All updates remain subject to review before publication.
Do I need a website to list my business?
No. A website is not required. Depending on your selected package, customers may still be able to contact you by telephone, email, WhatsApp or through directions to your physical premises.

Can I choose more than one business category?
Your business will be placed within the category that most accurately reflects its primary service. Additional category placement may be considered where it is relevant and included in the selected package.
What happens when my paid listing expires?
Your paid visibility and package-specific benefits will end when the selected term expires. You will be given the opportunity to renew or choose another package before the expiry date.
Will my listing renew automatically?
No. Listings will not renew automatically unless automatic renewal is clearly selected or separately arranged. You remain in control of whether you renew your package.
Are directory positions guaranteed?
Premium Partners receive priority placement, while Featured Listings receive increased visibility. Exact positioning may vary according to the selected category, active listings and directory layout.
Can any business be listed?
All submissions are reviewed. Newcastillian News reserves the right to reject or remove listings containing false, misleading, unlawful or inappropriate information, or businesses that do not meet the directory’s requirements.
What must I provide after purchasing?
You will need to provide your business name, category, location, contact details, short description and any relevant links. Paid packages may also require a high-quality logo, business images and verification documents.
Are listing fees refundable?
Because each listing requires administration, review and setup, refunds are generally not available once work has begun or the listing has been published. Any refund request will be considered in accordance with the applicable terms and South African consumer law.
All Business Directory listings are subject to review and approval. Submission or payment does not guarantee publication if the information supplied is false, misleading, unlawful, unverifiable, inappropriate or conflicts with Newcastillian News listing standards.
